"How sweet are Your words to my taste — sweeter than honey in my mouth!"
— Psalm 119:103

"More to be desired are they than gold, than much fine gold — sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb." — Psalm 19:10

This is the meditation of this mugup. Milk and honey. The promise folded into the beginning, the story spiraling in revelation. בראשית — the first word — circling still as a blueprint for the ages.

Wheels within wheels. Worlds within worlds. Words within the Word —

Living, turning, sweet - abundant life planned.

A promise of overflowing, a place where the earth itself would speak of what He intended for His people from the very beginning —

"I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and large land, a land flowing with milk and honey." — Exodus 3:8

And the Beloved knew this sweetness too —  held in the most intimate place, beneath the tongue, where words are formed before they are spoken —

"Your lips drop sweetness as the honeycomb, my bride — milk and honey are under your tongue." — Song of Songs 4:11

He did not want it kept at a distance, admired from afar — He wanted it closer than sustenance, closer than the bread that keeps the body alive through an ordinary day —

"I have not departed from the commandment of His lips. I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my daily bread." — Job 23:12

And when it was finally found it could not simply be read. It had to be consumed, taken in, allowed to rise as joy from somewhere deeper than the mind —

"Your words were found, and I ate them. Your words became my joy and my heart's delight, for I bear Your name, O LORD God of hosts." — Jeremiah 15:16

So God did not merely ask the prophet to carry the Word or deliver it. He asked him to receive it first — to let it pass his lips, to let it become part of him before it became message —

"He said to me, 'Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the people of Israel.' So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat. Then he said to me, 'Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it.' So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth." — Ezekiel 3:1-3

And still the Word dances forth & welcomes us into new begginings to uncover the depths of Love within!
